“Texas Johnny and the Night Owl Blues Band: Musical Roots”

Here’s Harpin’ Tracy Herron, Myra Lewis (Jerry Lee’s cousin he married), and Gail Marie Gilley. This was at Jerry Lee Lewis’ house at Ridgecrest, between Farraday, Louisiana and Vidalia, LA, near Natchez, Mississippi. That’s Jerry Lee’s brand new Cadillac. All were about 17 at the time, photo taken around 1957 or 58. By the way, this photo has never been published or on the internet until now. Texas Johnny and the Night Owl Blues Band have some musically deep-rooted musicians. Harmonica player Harpin’ Tracy Herron is Jerry Lee Lewis’ first cousin, and Keyboardist Dennis Gilley is the nephew of Mickey Gilley and also a cousin to Jerry Lee Lewis. The band also features Wayne Davis on lead guitar, Mike Parks on rhythm guitar, and Johnny Cornett on lead vocals.
